Goal Setting

Goal setting has been one of my elusive task. I have heard about it but never sat down and created one. But it was interesting to see the importance. An excellent book that brought this to light is the

Time management. You may ask how is Time management related to the Goal setting and an interesting question at that. According to the book if you do not have any goals it is difficult to manage your time as you will not know what you are about and why you should be working on a specific task. By setting the goal you can measure and quantify the reasoning for a specific task that you have undertaken. You can question yourself if this task aligns with my goals, if not I better not do it. You may need to see the priority as well. If the task is not a priority then why do it. The best part about the goal setting is that you will see things in proper perspective and tend to do them at the time frame you have created.

The next question would be how do I set goals. The book does give you some idea of setting the goals like selecting five categories that matter to you and setting them. I am a lazy person and like to have a template to work with rather than from scratch. I found this interesting blog that has the template for setting goals which I am going to use to set mine. It is never too late to set the goals. Most of us just sit and think that we will do all sorts of things but unless it is on paper we tend to forget. Do you know any other site that has the goal setting made easy?
